On April 3, the ‘Opportunities in China, Springs Nourishing Intangible Cultural Heritage’ Jinan Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Event was held in Yeongtong-dong, Yeongtong District of Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Many locals were drawn to the intangible cultural heritage exhibits from Jinan, as well as the culture creative exhibits featuring the characteristics of Jinan, the City of Springs.
South Korea and China share a similar cultural context and background. Jinan's intangible cultural heritage exhibits, with their vivid artistic charm, have aroused emotional and cultural resonance and received affection from local citizens.
The elegant rabbit king, exquisite Jinan paper-cutting, colorful Jinan shadow puppets...Many Jinan-style intangible cultural heritage exhibits have been highly recognized by local citizens. The exquisitely conceived and beautifully made cultural and creative exhibits featuring Jinan characteristics have also been welcomed by Suwon citizens. Representative exhibits were also offered to some of the attendees.
The Jinan city album exhibited on site attracted the citizens present. The exquisite photographs and detailed text introductions vividly showed the historical origins and urban features of Jinan. From spring culture, delicious food to economic development and technological innovation, a city with a long history and culture, beautiful urban scenery, rapid economic development and modern vitality was vividly portrayed on the album.
Since Jinan and Suwon established a sister city relationship in 1993, the two sides have been committed to mutually beneficial cooperation in culture, education, economy and trade. This event further deepened the Suwon citizens' understanding of the city image, history and culture of Jinan, thus promoting the folk cultural exchanges between the two cities.
